This is a remote position but it is required to live in the Central or Eastern region of the country.

Our client is a fast-growing veterinary company hiring a Vice President of Marketing to build and lead a marketing function that is accountable for driving growth.

The VP of Marketing will have responsibility for the entire marketing funnel which includes demand generation, conversion, and retention. The incumbent is responsible for translating marketing activity into measurable growth and EBITDA impact.

The role includes corporate brand, digital presence, social channels and events, talent attraction, and partnership development. This is not a traditional brand role. The incumbent will build a distributed, repeatable marketing engine grounded in local markets, balancing growth ambition with operational capacity.

The incumbent is responsible for new client growth, client retention, reactivation, and marketing ROI. The VP of Marketing will establish and track clear KPI’s, ensuring direct linkage between marketing performance and EBITDA at the local level. The incumbent will define enterprise marketing priorities aligned to growth objectives. The VP of Marketing will make investment decisions, including where the company invests or does not invest. The incumbent will reallocate resources based on performance, capacity constraints, and market dynamics.

Other responsibilities include balancing short-term demand generation with long-term brand and talent positioning, partnering with the field to ensure market demand aligns with realities, integrate marketing into core operating cadences, ensure campaign and investments reflect local dynamics and  operational readiness, develop and scale a marketing playbook, own campaigns that drive client acquisition, retention and reputation, build systems for review management, referral programs and geo-targeted paid media, lead strategy and execution across Google Ads, paid social, local SEO and online reputation platforms, create repeatable, scalable models that perform across diverse local markets, operate as a hands-on player-coach, directly engaging in campaign design, testing and optimization, step into underperforming markets or priority initiatives to drive execution and results, translate strategy into high-impact activation plans, including events, field marketing, partnerships and experiential touchpoints, build and lead a nimble, lean marketing team (in-house and agency) with high individual ownership, set clear expectations for accountability, performance and speed, foster a learning culture with continuous improvement, partner with IT to evolve the marketing stack, lead B2B marketing across Business Development and employer brand initiatives and own the marketing budget.

Qualifications include 10 years in marketing roles, ideally with multi-location or field marketing (example: healthcare, franchise, or multi-unit services). Exposure to veterinary, medical, or healthcare marketing is preferred. Proven ability to build from scratch, comfortable working with limited data and working to improve this, experience partnering with tech, HR and operations and working cross-functionally, strong leadership and vendor management skills and able to build a lean internal team and work with external partners.

This position has a 20% travel requirement. You will be expected to attend in person needs and visit different company locations.
