We are seeking a multi-site Veterinary Medical Director to lead collaborative veterinary teams for an employee-owned practice (ESOP).  This is the chance to have some ownership without borrowing millions of dollars. This is the opportunity to combine clinical practice with medical leadership. Initially the incumbent will be the Medical Director over two practices that will eventually expand to three practice and potentially more in the future.

Our ideal candidate is an experienced veterinarian professional tired of the corporate, private-equity-backed cultures taking over the profession. They want to stay in vet med but want to do something to change the trajectory of where things are heading with consolidation, and have the skills, abilities, and motivation to help make the company and their team successful. We need a smart, experienced, tenacious, highly accountable person who will take responsibility for developing viable, innovative solutions to drive our success.

In this role, you will split your time between providing high-quality patient care and guiding the medical direction of the practice. Approximately half of your time will be spent practicing medicine alongside a skilled veterinary technician team, while the remainder will focus on overseeing medical programs, developing protocols, and mentoring veterinarians and lead veterinarians.

The Medical Director ensures excellent standards of care, maintains compliance with veterinary regulations, and oversees controlled substance management and medical policies. You will collaborate with practice managers and executive leadership on hiring, scheduling, strategic planning, budgeting, and equipment investments that support continued growth and medical advancement.  You will oversee multiple hospital locations and help resolve client concerns while supporting the organization’s strong reputation for compassionate, high-quality veterinary care. This is an ideal position for someone who has been the Medical Director over one site who is ready to expand to multi-site leadership.

The salary range is $195,000–$245,000 plus an exceptional total compensation package
