Specialty Regional Medical Director

This position will be responsible for guiding the medical direction of client’s Specialty hospitals in the Northeast.   The bulk of the SRMD’s time is spent traveling to the various hospital locations and working with their hospital medical teams.  If you have been thinking about shifting gears from full-time clinical practice to a more global role in leadership, management, and medical education, this could represent the opportunity you have been looking.

Candidates must have a passion for veterinary medicine and the desire to continuously improve the quality of medical care delivered in our hospitals.  The SRMD is an integral part of the regional management team.  Responsibilities will include working with Chief Medical Officer and the regional management team to help set and implement standards of medical practice and patient care, referral DVM marketing and service, oversight of internship and residency programs, delivery of medical staff training, evaluating medical equipment needs, and employee and doctor development.

Key qualifications include board certification, excellent communication skills, and experience in training veterinarians in either a private practice or an academic environment.  This is an opportunity to positively impact medical quality and patient care in multiple locations, through mentorship and education.
