Senior Veterinary Technical Services – Swine – Midwest

The primary responsibilities of this role are to develop communications with practicing veterinarians, colleges of veterinary medicine, land grant universities, extension specialists and technicians to promote animal health disease prevention programs and Animal Health products.  The incumbent will prepare special analyses to support animal health business development and to herd management decisions on swine health products. The incumbent will review national animal health conditions and advise the manager of Veterinary Technical Services and will make recommendations toward present and future needs. The incumbent will establish contacts with key opinion leaders in the swine industry through trade associations, veterinary organizations and other allied associations. The incumbent will organize and implement Swine Veterinary advisory council meetings and events important to the swine business. The incumbent will present technical product profiles for the company’s products and competitive products and will participate in technical aspects of product positioning. The incumbent will present technical product demonstrations and lectures in conjunction with local sales representatives, consultants and practicing veterinarians. The incumbent will contact veterinary research operations and leading practitioners to establish market support field trials and technical aspects or product positioning. The incumbent will establish contact with state veterinarians, state commissioners of agriculture and public health officials to become acquainted with all state animal health requirement and regulations and will conduct/manage compliant investigations and will resolve them or make recommendations to management as to their final disposition. The incumbent will manage and help R&D personnel on completion of field safety studies for animal health products.

This role is field based and incumbent may be located anywhere in continental US as long as he/she is willing to travel 50%.

Qualifications include Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, 5+ years of clinical practice experience, sound understanding of disease control, animal requirements and the ability to develop disease prevention programs, strong communication skills, ability to analyze research and diagnose serious animal health problems and develop satisfactory solutions. The successful candidate will have experience developing protocols for market support field trials and supervision and completion of them.
