Regional Veterinary Operations Director – California/Arizona – #6713

Drive a successful and growing Medical Director and veterinarian team through hiring, recruiting, referrals, and retention as Regional Veterinary Operations Director.

We are seeking a high-energy, veterinarian professional with a deep-seated interest in providing for the overall health and well-being of pets to enhance their lives to step into this stellar role in California or Arizona!

The Role Essential Responsibilities

  • RVDs will collaborate with the Regional Managers to ensure the delivery of complete pet care services within their region.
  • Supports the mission, vision, culture, and policies of the organization of complete care and well-being for pets.
  • Partner with Regional managers on doctor retention, staffing support, and compensation.
  • Ensure the delivery of an exceptional onboarding and mentorship experience.
  • Develop and manage performance plans to meet center budgets and doctor production requirements, in partnership with Regional Managers
  • Develop and lead the Medical Director and veterinarian team to ensure the care delivered in hospitals meets industry, regulatory, DP, and AAHA standards.
  • Develop productive relationships with veterinary medical colleges to meet the recruiting needs for the practice, partnering with the recruiting team and serving as a university liaison.
  • 50-75% local and national travel
  • Regularly visit centers & collaborate with Regional Managers to establish a schedule & priorities for travel with business partners.
  • Work to enhance the organization’s community standing and brand reputation.
  • Actively participate in national, state, and local veterinary associations

What You Will Need for This Role: 

  • You must be a DVM to qualify for this opportunity.
  • A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM, VMD) or equivalent foreign degree is required.
  • Five years of clinical veterinary experience is required
  • Two years of hospital leadership experience is required
  • Love for pets
  • Deep-seated interest in providing for the overall health and well-being of pets to enhance and extend the lives
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Results Oriented
