Medical Liaison Veterinarian – California

Medical Liaison Veterinarian San Diego, CA position. We have a position open for a Medical Liaison Veterinarian with future potential to grow into the Chief Veterinary Officer reporting to the President and Chief Operating Officer of the company. One of the company founders is an entrepreneur and angel investor who founded an international marketplace for pet services. The organization raised more than $45m from investors and generated more than $100m in sales. The company merged and created what is now a $1B pet services company. Since exiting, the founder has become more active as an investor, advisor and board member. The other company founder is a co-founder and CEO of startup companies in medical and consumer technologies with experience in a wide range of business functions. He has raised millions in investment, earned millions in revenue and has managed partnerships with multi-billion-dollar market leaders and has built highly innovative and entrepreneurial teams. The company will focus on preventive medicine/health maintenance/regenerative medicine to extend the quality of life and length of life for canine family members. The company is establishing a unique and highly valuable resource to support ongoing research and discovery activities for long term product development. The Medical Liaison Veterinarian will be the face of the company working with and communicating with boarded veterinary specialists and general veterinary practitioners in the San Diego area and eventually potentially nationwide. In this role the incumbent will build partnerships with veterinary practices, interface with marketing and sales and handle training. This is both an inward facing and outward facing role. The incumbent will build rapport with veterinarians throughout the profession. Other responsibilities include translational medicine, regenerative medicine, bringing credibility to the organization, overseeing the design of clinical trials and being a medical liaison. The incumbent will bring science to the clinic.

Qualifications include a veterinarian with a background in cell-based therapeutics, regenerative medicine and biologic product development, 15 years of experience is preferred in both industry and clinical practice. Experience with translational medicine is preferred. Other qualifications include a self starter who can handle ambiguity and persuasive skills. We will consider candidates with less experience. We are looking for an outstanding record of accomplishments in regenerative medicine, understanding of the drug development process and strong communication skills. We seek a strategic thinker with a vision for defining and communicating the company’s vision as well as the ability to adapt to change. Excellent communication skills and presentation skills are needed We are seeking a positive, high-energy, professional with a high level of emotional intelligence.
