Our client is a full-service veterinary hospital in the Houston, TX area devoted exclusively to cats. Our clients veterinarians are skilled at providing excellent care for cats ranging from new-born kittens to feral cats. The culture is light and focused on patient care. We are looking to help our client grow the practice and are seeking a Medical Director Veterinarian to join the practice in Houston, TX. The successful candidate is responsible for the medical standards at the practice as well as working directly with the practice manager to ensure the financial health of the business. Good leadership qualities and dedication to position is what we are looking for in the candidate.

A typical day involves practicing medicine and surgery with 1-2 meetings per month with the practice manager. This position will provide the Medical Director Veterinarian with opportunity to run a hospital without any of the risks of owning. Additionally, for our client’s high performing medical directors, there is opportunity for advancement.

The practice manager and staff report to the medical director. Working hours include Monday-Friday 8am-6pm with one of those days off per week, plus some Saturdays per month.

Qualifications:

License to practice veterinary medicine in Texas with at least 3 years of DVM experience.

Record of high production at previous position. Specifically, willing to work with only feline patients.

Compensation & Other Benefits:

Competitive salary based on experience and history of production. The position will also pay a production bonus above the base salary as well as a medical director bonus that is structured based on clinic financial performance.

Relocation available for right candidate.
