The incoming hospitalist will evaluate, diagnose, treat, and manage patients presenting on an emergent and urgent care basis, formulate treatment plans and clearly communicate this to both support staff, doctors, and clients, perform surgical and other emergency procedures, document physical exam findings, diagnostic recommendations, diagnostic findings, treatments, client status and outcomes, and client communications, perform emergency triage and intensive stabilization of patients in critical condition due to physical trauma, severe injury, cardiovascular shock, respiratory distress, cardiac disease, neurological conditions, endocrinopathies, and gastrointestinal difficulty, Evaluate abnormal clinical signs and physical exam findings, interpret diagnostic tests, compile detailed case reports/records, supervise intensive care, oversee veterinary technicians, assistants and other support staff, and provide consultations on referral cases from the local primary care veterinary community, and so much more!
You will work in conjunction with specialists and referring veterinarians on the treatment of hospitalized cases and perform all duties of a veterinarian in a full-service, high-volume emergency and referral hospital.
Our two top priorities at our veterinary hospital are that we provide the gold standard care for our patients, and also foster a positive and supportive culture between staff.
Each doctor has a team of techs and assistants who work the same schedule as the doctor. Additionally, we have full-time lab pharmacy staff and front desk workers so the doctor’s team is just focusing on patient care.
