Our client is a global leader in animal health seeking a strategic and commercially driven Director of Marketing to lead a high-profile portfolio of prescription animal health products. This executive-level marketing leader will be responsible for defining and executing both short- and long-term portfolio strategies that drive revenue growth, market share expansion, and profitability.
The Director of Marketing will oversee a portfolio that includes established and emerging therapeutic categories and will play a key role in shaping future innovation pipelines, product launches, and commercialization strategies. This position requires a highly collaborative leader who can successfully partner across Sales, Finance, Market Access, Business Development, R&D, and Global Marketing teams.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Marketing Leadership
- Develop and execute comprehensive portfolio strategies that deliver both top-line growth and bottom-line profitability.
- Lead annual planning, long-range strategic planning, forecasting, and lifecycle management initiatives.
- Identify growth opportunities through market analysis, customer insights, competitive intelligence, and industry trends.
- Collaborate with business development and innovation teams to evaluate future product opportunities and pipeline investments.
Omnichannel Marketing Excellence
- Design and implement integrated omnichannel marketing programs targeting both veterinary professionals and pet owners.
- Lead B2B and B2C brand positioning, customer engagement strategies, and promotional initiatives.
- Develop innovative tools, programs, and campaigns that effectively influence prescribing behavior and consumer demand.
- Drive digital transformation initiatives that enhance customer experience and improve marketing effectiveness.
Product Launch & Commercialization
- Lead all aspects of new product commercialization and go-to-market planning.
- Coordinate cross-functional launch teams to ensure successful market entry and adoption.
- Establish launch objectives, performance metrics, and execution plans that support long-term growth.
Business & Financial Management
- Own portfolio financial performance, including pricing strategy, ROI analysis, margin optimization, forecasting, and investment prioritization.
- Manage annual marketing budgets and promotional spending while ensuring efficient resource allocation.
- Utilize analytics and performance data to evaluate sales trends, campaign effectiveness, customer engagement, and competitive dynamics.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Partner closely with Sales leadership to ensure customer insights and field feedback are incorporated into strategic planning and execution.
- Build strong relationships across commercial, technical, and operational functions to drive alignment and execution excellence.
- Present strategic recommendations and business performance updates to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
Team Development
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing marketing organization.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Provide mentoring and career development opportunities for direct and indirect reports.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is an accomplished marketing leader with experience driving growth within animal health or related life sciences organizations. Animal Health is strongly preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of progressive marketing experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
- Demonstrated success leading strategic marketing initiatives within the life sciences sector.
- Strong experience in omnichannel marketing, brand management, forecasting, and commercialization.
- Proven track record of successful product launches and go-to-market execution.
- Strong financial and analytical capabilities, including ROI assessment, pricing strategy, and budget management.
- Experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
- Excellent project management, organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to influence across functions and levels within a complex organization.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or other advanced business degree.
- Animal health industry experience.
- Experience marketing prescription products to healthcare professionals and end users.
