Clinical Veterinarian – Albuquerque, NM

We are seeking a FT Clinical Veterinarian to join a team in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This is a biomedical research organization that strives to push the limits of preclinical research while offering streamlined customer experience. The expansive bio-secure facility is equipped to handle just about any preclinical program, from investigational gene therapies to infectious disease solutions.

The Clinical Veterinarian is responsible for providing veterinary care to a variety of laboratory animal species including diagnosis and treatment of disease, preventive medicine, animal health monitoring, and quarantine monitoring. In this position, you will also participate in research support covering clinical aspects of the studies, providing guidance on animal model and protocol development, and participate on the IACUC and conduct veterinary reviews.

Qualifications

• DVM from an AVMA accredited veterinary college or ECFVG foreign equivalency certification
• Licensed to practice in at least one U.S. state
• Minimum 1 year post-graduate clinical experience with laboratory animal species in a biomedical research setting
• Formal postdoctoral training in laboratory animal medicine and/or ACLAM board eligibility/board certification is preferred
• Knowledge and ability to ensure compliance with standards, rules, and regulations
• Must demonstrate an understanding of research methodology, principles and procedures
