Business Development Manager

Business Development Role: The Business Development role is responsible for assisting the co-founders and owners in sourcing new veterinary practice acquisitions, attending business conferences and working with the founders and owners in integrating the veterinary practices into the organizations network of veterinary practices.

50% of this role is acquisition related work. The incumbent will attend industry conferences, to help source deals and will cold call veterinary practices to see if they are interested in selling/partnering with the organization and will contact brokers to see what practices they have for sale. The incumbent will work on developing a database of practice targets in certain markets.

50% of this role will be integration related work which includes assisting the general counsel and the other founders in integrating veterinary practices. Specific responsibilities will be organizing a list of what has and has not been done for integration which would include things like bank account set ups, legal filings, vendor applications, payoff letters, etc. This will mostly involve set-up and reminding different team members what has and hasn’t been completed.

Other work may include assistance on the 60 day plan that the founders and regional managers will put together following closing.

Qualifications include at least one year of experience in the Animal Health or Human Health Industry, whether that includes working with drug vendors or distributors or directly with another veterinary consolidator doing work in a similar capacity. Competencies include showing initiative, strong organizational skills, entrepreneurial, time management, decision making and communication proficiency. This is a full time position and the incumbent will be expected to travel between the states the organization operates and will operate in the future across the US.
