Associate Veterinarian – Ohio

We are seeking an experienced Associate Veterinarian to join a well-established, multidoctor, small animal practice in Ohio. The practice has been AAHA Accredited since the 1970’s. The practice offers 24/7 hospital staffing with registered Technicians and Assistants as well as doctor on-call. High commitment to quality and compassion through patient care and customer service has remained the same for 35+  years.

Qualifications include a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university. Licensure in good standing to practice in Ohio. The successful candidate will exhibit professional behavior and appearance, have excellent interpersonal skills and a friendly, positive attitude as well as the ability to make decisions and communicate clearly and effectively with fellow team members. The incumbent must be confident in his/her medical and surgical abilities and have excellent communication skills. The successful candidate will have a commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine, upholding the veterinary code of ethics. In this role, the incumbent will develop a rapport with clients and determine their needs and wishes, perform physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures in a way that will deliver the highest quality of care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort. The incumbent will explain physical examination findings and communicate to the client a diagnosis of the pet’s problem’s generate and present a treatment plan for the pet to the client’ educate clients on preventative health care, including vaccines and appropriate nutritional products. The incumbent will be scheduled to respond to medical emergencies on an on-call basis. The case load is varied and balanced between routine emergency and complex critical cases, including varied traumas, internal medicine, cardiology, toxicologic, reproductive, soft tissue surgical and transfusion medicine cases.  The incumbent will maintain client/patient medical/surgical records and make certain all necessary charts are kept current through established protocols; will assist colleagues in  follow-up and future management of the patient.  The incumbent will stay up to date with new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine and will attend continuing education meetings and complete at least 30 hours of accredited CE per year. The veterinarian will positively represent the hospital in the professional community and to the general public.
