Seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join a well-established, collaborative practice in El Dorado County, California. The team includes a mix of full- and part-time small animal veterinarians alongside a full-time large animal veterinarian, creating a supportive environment where doctors are trusted to work independently with clear expectations and consistent leadership.

This small-animal role offers a balanced mix of surgery and appointments, supported by a highly skilled registered veterinary technician and dedicated anesthetic assistance.

Scheduling is flexible to accommodate longer procedures and individual doctor needs, allowing a steady, efficient workflow focused on quality care and clear client communication. Our clientele is loyal, engaged, and values thoughtful discussion and long-term relationships.

The practice operates out of a new, state-of-the-art hospital with a welcoming, converted-barn feel in the Sierra Nevada foothills, offering a small-town lifestyle, abundant outdoor recreation, and a dog-friendly workplace.

The ideal schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with Wednesdays and weekends off. This salaried position offers up to $170,000 annually for a four-day workweek and no commission-based pay.

About the Hospital

In addition to wellness & preventative care, our animal hospital performs general soft-tissue surgeries (such as spays/neuters, mass removals, wound repairs), oversees sedated procedures (including radiographs), minor procedures, dental cleanings with extractions as indicated, and much more.
