Associate Veterinarian Advanced Surgery and Dental Care

Our client was featured on Good Morning America.  We are searching for a veterinarian who is comfortable with anesthesia and high volume work to lead the dental department with the ability to perform extractions on dogs and cats. Must be proficient in minor soft tissue surgery. Experience with advanced surgical procedures would be a plus but is not required.  The primary interest should be in dentistry with a secondary interest in soft tissue surgery.  The incumbent must be willing to limit themselves to dentistry and surgery only.  A typical day includes between 10-20 dental cleanings and 10-15 surgeries. The other doctor is focused on surgery and is looking for someone who can lead/oversee dentals.  The technicians do the primary cleaning and the veterinarian is expected to help. The successful candidate will induce anesthesia, monitor anesthesia and intervene as needed as needed. The veterinarian will perform  extractions as needed and will perform any associated surgeries such as growth removals or any other needed minor surgical procedures. Only extractions are offered. The hospital does not offer root canals, fillings, etc.

This is a high volume, fast paced practice so the incumbent must be comfortable monitoring multiple animals under sedation, be able to multi-task, think and move quickly while staying calm. The staff in the practice gets along great and there is no drama in the practice. The practice is renovating a new, larger space (triple the current size) and plans to move about 10 minutes away next year.

Most of the clients are less fortunate with low levels of education and the practice exists to be a helping hand to those who would otherwise not be able to afford the cost of surgery and dental care.  Some of the clients are educated who have fallen on hard times.  Most are very appreciative of the service and care and more than 50% of the clients travel from outside the city and even out of state.
