Large Animal Veterinarian – Animal Health Industry-Wisconsin #5336
We are seeking a Large Animal Veterinarian to join a leading provider of animal health and veterinary care products for dairy and livestock producers. The incumbent will help producers reach full genetic potential of the herds and to help them attain their animal health and production goals.
Duties
- Deliver exceptional technical expertise and service to clients and sales staff, ensuring that services are in alignment with the company standards and within business objectives
- Monetize the value of veterinarians as Strategic Partners to producers through the Farm Vitals Platform and other veterinarian services
- Develop, promote, and execute value added programs and billable services to the producer (residue avoidance, milk quality, calf health, reproduction, vaccination, investigations, records, audits)
- Collaborate with Sales Representatives to prospect, drive occupancy, and maintain competitive advantages of farms
- Promote appropriate non-Rx products and services to augment therapy recommendations
- Establish and maintain valid VCPRs through farm visits, services, records, protocols, and prescriptions
- Client/Staff education
- Build strong relationships with other veterinarians within and outside of the company
- Provide technical support for development of training and promotional materials
- Possess a strong knowledge of the industry and the company’s product lines and services. Recommend products and consult clients to support the company as a preferred resource and trusted partner of their animal health team
- Participate & network with organizations such as DBA, PDPW, WVMA, AABP, AVMA, and NMC, developing relationships and networking with industry influencers. Understand and influence the forces that will shape the industry in the future
- Pursue professional growth through CE, attending meetings, and company-sponsored educational sessions
Qualifications
- DVM Degree required, additional degrees and training a plus
- 4+ years of production animal experience required. Must have an overall understanding of dairy and beef industries
- Language skills
- Ability to work 40+ hours a week
- Must have a valid Wisconsin driver’s license without moving violations
- License to practice in Minnesota and/or South Dakota is a plus or be willing to pursue their license in those states.
Travel: Daily travel to farms expected. Some overnight travel required variable up to 20%
