The innovation Director will assist in managing functions of the innovation team, which include formulate, pre-clinical and clinical groups. This position involves supervising personnel, overseeing design and implementing innovation projects through development, preparation and review of development documents.
The incumbent will:
- Manage the development of new products for the company, including rationale, project timeline, and budget.
- Manage the Innovation Team on new products for tablets, soft chews, capsules of other formulations.
- Provide input and recommendations for business development proposals.
- Will be a part of the Scientific Committee for new and existing products.
- Work with the Veterinary Professional Services to support development of existing products.
- Review of technical reports, SOPs, and batch records.
- Assist in the preparation of regulatory documents.
- Assist and support Product Managers in development of product improvements, and related scientific, marketing and promotional materials.
- Assist with innovation upstream marketing of new innovation projects.
- Monitor new developments and current status of pharmaceutical and veterinary supplements clinical research projects, studies and trends.
- Provide recommendations and rationale for product improvements and new product ideas.
- Represent company at veterinary conferences and trade shows.
- Provide educational, professional, and technical support to sales force as necessary.
- Regular attendance is required in office. This is an in office position.
- Perform other assigned duties as may be required in meeting company objectives

Qualifications:
- Experience with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), Good Clinical Practice (GCP) regulations, and Standard Operating Procedures
- Working knowledge of principles of current Good Manufacturing practices (cGMPs).
- Veterinary Medicine degree or Doctor of Philosophy with 3 to 6 years of industry experience.
- Basic knowledge of scientific principles and practices is required.
- The candidate must be experienced in product development or formulation development.
- Must possess excellent writing, interpersonal, communication, and organization skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external teams.
- Must be competent in computer usage, such as word processing, spreadsheets, and/or databases. Knowledge of MS Project is also required.
