Propose, develop, and implement new policies and programs for schools and colleges offering a professional degree in veterinary medicine as the Assistant Director of the Education and Research Division. In this role, you will help future veterinarians become world changers and thrive in veterinary medicine.

The Assistant Director will be an experienced veterinarian who is proactive, professional, accountable, and results oriented. This is a unique opportunity for a veterinarian with a faculty background.

In this role, you will provide staff support for accreditation site visits; develop and implement site visitor training; and facilitate and supports the activities of the Council on Education and other governance entities assigned.

Besides this, you will work closely and collaboratively with other staff and volunteers in support of Councils, Committees, and Task Forces in the execution of their duties and will be responsible for executing association policies, objectives, and programs concerning veterinary education and accreditation.

Skills & Qualifications 

  • A minimum of 10 years of veterinary-related work experience 
  • Working knowledge of veterinary education
  • Experience working with veterinary college administrators is highly preferred
  • Demonstration of leadership and management experience
  • Knowledge of the accreditation process is highly preferred
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written & verbal)
  • Skilled in diplomatic facilitation of consensus between multiple perspectives
  • Must be able to interact and effectively communicate both with members of the scientific and non-scientific community
  • Must be able to handle multiple priorities and deadlines, functioning well autonomously and as a team member.
  • Must be able to travel on behalf of the association. Approximately 40-50% of travel is required. 
  • Must be able to work outside of normal business hours as required
