What a Recruiter Loves to Hear: ‘Thank You For Changing My Life’

Recruiting is not the easiest job in the world.  However, it can very rewarding, especially when you receive an email like the one I recently received.

That email was sent to me by somebody who I’ve placed in two positions so far in their career.  The email contained the following words:

“I probably have never said this before and I should have, [but] thank you for changing my life.”

Needless to say, I found this email to be very pleasing.  Words such as these are what get me out of the bed every morning to go to work.

Being an executive recruiter represents the opportunity to change people’s lives for the better, and when you do change their lives for the better, emails such as this one are the reward.

As a recruiter, I’ve invested my life’s work doing two things:

  1. Improving the lives of people by helping them land exciting new jobs and grow their careers with leading companies
  1. Building companies by helping them hire great candidates who become great employees

Contrary to what people might think, a quality recruiter does NOT look to fill a position with just anybody.  They look to fill the position with the best candidate possible, making both the candidate and the company that hires them extremely happy.

In short, we want to change people’s lives.

That’s why this email made such an impression on me and why I was so glad to receive it.  When I hear things like this, I know I’m making a difference in the lives of people.  This is why I do what I do.

These are the things that a recruiter loves to hear.

We help support careers in one of two ways: 1. By helping find the right opportunity when the time is right, and 2. By helping recruit top talent for the critical needs of organizations.  If this is something you would like to explore further, please send an email to stacy@thevetrecruiter.com.
