Stacy Pursell – Founder and CEO of The VET Recruiter®
Stacy Pursell, CPC, CERS, is an internationally respected Executive Recruiter and Search Consultant, based in the United States and ranked in the top 1% of search consultants worldwide. Stacy builds world class Animal Health, Veterinary and Pet Industry organizations. She is a Talent Scout and Workplace/Workforce expert in the Animal Health Industry, Pet Industry and Veterinary Profession and specializes in direct hire and contract placements in the Animal Health, Animal Nutrition, Animal Sciences, Agriculture, Veterinary and Pet Specialty Industries. Stacy helps companies of all sizes throughout the United States, Canada and abroad locate, recruit and hire the best talent for their specific needs. Stacy has assisted many of the major Animal Health Companies in recruiting C-Level executives, senior level management personnel, mid-level management and individual contributors. In addition, Stacy has helped start-up Animal Health Companies and Veterinary Businesses build their entire teams. She has assisted numerous veterinary hospitals; both corporate and privately owned, across the United States in finding executive leadership, associate veterinarians, medical directors, chief of staff and boarded veterinary specialists. With 25+ years of executive search and recruiting experience, Stacy has one of the highest success rates in the recruiting industry and has filled more positions in the Animal Health Industry and Veterinary Profession in the United States than any other recruiter. She was also the first recruiter in the United States to specialize in the Animal Health Industry, Pet Industry and Veterinary Profession as a search practice specialty. In fact, Stacy developed the Animal Health and Veterinary Recruiting niche as a recruiting specialty. In addition to being a Certified Personnel Consultant, Stacy is a Certified Employee Retention Specialist (CERS) and a member of an elite group of about 30 search professionals who have passed this challenging exam. Finding and retaining employees is the #1 concern of employers in today’s marketplace and this certification helps our clients become better at retaining their employees in order for them to have a competitive advantage in the marketplace.
Stacy is a member of the following organizations: American Association of Industry Veterinarians (AAIV) (affiliate member), Vet Partners, Toastmasters, Top Echelon and the National Association of Personnel Services (NAPS) (past Board of Directors Member). She has been a contributor for Next Level Training, the leading Recruiting Industry Training Firm. Stacy has a BA in Broadcast Journalism from Oklahoma State University and worked in the Television Broadcasting and Advertising Industries before joining the search profession in 1997.
Stacy’s volunteer experience in addition to previously serving on the board of the National Association of Personnel Services (NAPS) includes currently serving as an Advisory Board Member for the Professional Science Master’s programs (PSM) at Kansas State University’s Olathe campus. She serves in Vet Partners as a member and Co-Chair of the Membership Committee and is a member of the Opportunities Committee and Technology and Innovation SIG. She previously served as the VP of Public Relations for her local Toastmaster’s chapter. In addition, she packs meals for starving children for Feed My Starving Children.
Stacy has been asked to speak at numerous veterinary conferences, associations and meetings including at the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) conference, American Veterinary Medical Association Economics Summit, Veterinary Hospital Managers Association (VHMA), Western Veterinary Conference (WVC), American Association of Industry Veterinarians as well as Vet Partners.
