Companies have trimmed back in a lot of areas during the past few years, but there’s one area in which no company can afford to cut—knowledge and expertise.

Unfortunately, many companies have suffered such losses and are struggling to recover in the face of nearly constant change and transition.  What can be done, though, if there are restrictions on full-time hires or even an outright hiring freeze?  There is a solution, and that solution is retiree re-staffing.

The most recent recession hit the Baby Boomer Generation rather hard, and its members were the victims of a double-edged sword.  That sword cut two ways:

  1. Baby Boomers weren’t able to rebuild their retirement savings in time, meaning they were forced to delay retirement.
  2. After losing their jobs during the recession, Boomers opted for early retirement.

No matter which way they were cut, both ends of the sword meant one thing for Baby Boomers: less household income.  Consequently, these Boomers are staying in the workforce longer OR they’re returning to the workforce part-time.

Here’s the good news: you can hire these workers on a contract basis, thereby tapping into their immense experience and vast expertise without having to hire anybody full-time.  The worker will complete whatever project you give them, and once their contract has ended, you both move on.  Or, if you would prefer them to continue working for you, simply renew or extend the contract.

The bottom line is this:

  • You get what you need, which is a hard working, experienced, and talented employee that you don’t have to hire on a full-time basis.
  • They get what they need, which is additional cash flow and a flexible schedule that could involve telecommuting.

If you need the kind of expertise that older workers possess and you’d like to engage in retiree re-staffing, we can help.  We offer contract staffing as part of our recruiting services and can find qualified candidates willing to work on a contract basis.

Retiree re-staffing can give you what you need.  Contact us today for more information about how it can benefit your organization!
