Vice President of Sales

Vice President of Sales. The Vice President of Sales position is a customer facing position. As a member of the executive leadership team, the Vice President of Sales will work with the CCO, CEO, CFO, EVO and EVP of Global Strategy to support the company’s efforts to achieve revenue and operational goals. This position is responsible for North American Sales for the company, with an emphasis on customer facing responsibilities, but including contributions to business development, strategic partnerships, marketing, education and training by providing sales leadership, expertise, direction and execution of the commercial strategy. This position proactively identifies trends in the veterinary companion animal health industry and contributes to discussions on business impact and strategic direction. This position provides sales leadership to both internal and external customers in order to align strategic direction and business objectives. All activities will be performed with the highest level of professionalism, while staying aligned with the company’s core values, mission and vision.

The Vice President of Sales contribution will come within the commercial organization, primarily with sales, but also through collaborating with marketing, support and veterinary affairs. The Vice President of Sales will recruit, hire, onboard, train and develop veterinary sales management and veterinary sales representatives. In addition, The Vice President of Sales will collaborate with marketing, support and veterinary affairs teams to ensure creation and support of customer experience framework and will collaborate with marketing on the development of client personals, buyer journeys and establish long term customer. The Vice President of Sales will collaborate with both inside and outside sales representatives to identify customer needs and will identify opportunities to create new revenue streams and business opportunities. The Vice President of Sales will report on sales effectiveness and efficiency performance and will manage profit and loss for the sales organization.

The Vice President of Sales will monitor, evaluate and report on competitor activities; make recommendations based on findings/opportunities discovered and will evaluate the success of various sales communication strategies and provide and implement recommendations for improvement as well as develop and implement strategies that will encourage sales innovations and strategic business development. The Vice President of Sales will implement a CRM and will negotiate customer agreements and incentive programs that foster strategic business growth with key accounts while maintaining company profitability. The Vice President of Sales will study market research and trends to determine consumer demand, potential sales volumes and the effect of competitors’ operations on sales. Other responsibilities include to devise and deploy sales goals and objectives across the organization, including the preparation of sales quotas and budgets.

The Vice President of Sales will Collaborate with the executive team to develop short-and long-term strategic plans, including the preparation of annual business plans. The VP will integrate and align sales strategies with available talent, processes, IT systems and other areas to increase sales force capability and success. The VP will ensure that company policies and procedures are followed in the Sales Department and the Vice President will accomplish desired outcomes in line with organizational sales targets by communicating performance expectations. The VP will conduct analysis to manage sales performance against corporate objectives and market developments. The VP of Sales will provide strong contributions as needed with partners and business development in North American markets. The VP will participate in the development and administration of Corporate Social Responsibility efforts.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Marketing or Business with a preferred Master’s Degree in Business, Finance or Business Administration. The successful candidate will have several years of experience in a sales leadership capacity within the US Animal Health Industry. The Vice President of Sales will be expected to quickly learn detailed knowledge of the company’s products and services and possess knowledge of the competitive products and marketplace. Other qualifications include exhibiting awareness of best sales practices and methods, strong interpersonal and customer service skills, a team player who demonstrates patience with reluctant clients and will have familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook. The successful candidate will communicate clearly and effectively, have strong persuasive abilities, demonstrates solid motivational and leadership skills, maintains a professional but confident and outgoing demeanor, capable of conducting independent research, possess strong organization skills. The successful candidate will demonstrate a successful sales and sales leadership track record in the US Animal Health Industry.
