Vice President of Marketing – West Coast

The Vice President of Marketing will plan, execute and finalize marketing projects and will coordinate efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver marketing projects. The Vice President of Marketing will define the project’s objectives and work with other functional areas related to the project throughout its life cycle.

The VP of Marketing will create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements, will manage day to day operational aspects of a project identifying resources needed and assigning individual responsibility, reviews deliverables prepared prior to passing to client and manages the client’s expectations, manages project budget, determines appropriate revenue recognition, ensures timely and accurate invoicing and monitors receivables for project, analyzes project profitability, revenue, margins, bill rates and utilization, understands basic revenue models, P/L, and cost-to-completion projections and makes decisions accordingly, understands the pricing model, accurately forecasts revenue, profitability, margins, bill rates and utilization, assures project legal documents are completed and signed, identifies business development and “add-on” sales opportunities as they relate to a specific project, leads proposal efforts including completing project scoping, conveys the companies message in both written and verbal business development discussions, facilitates team and client meetings effectively, holds regular status meetings with key stakeholders, keeps project team well informed of changes within the organization and general corporate news, communicates relevant project information to superiors, delivers engaging, informative, well-organized presentations, resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion, communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully, understand the organization’s capabilities, maintains awareness of new and emerging technologies and the potential application on client engagements, challenges others to develop as leaders while serving as a role model and mentor, manages the development of team by ensuring, when possible, that project tasks are in line with each innovator’s career interests, inspires coworkers to attain goals and pursue excellence, identifies opportunities for improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change, manages the process of innovative change effectively, remains on the forefront of emerging industry practices, effectively utilizes each team member to his/her fullest potential, motivates team to work together in the most efficient manner, manages day-to-day client interaction, develops lasting relationships with client personnel that foster client ties, communicates effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions, seeks out opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships, builds a knowledge base of each client’s business, organization and objectives, conducts effective performance evaluations and mentors those with less experience through formal channels, seeks and participates in development opportunities above and beyond required training, trains other innovators and clients through training programs, suggests areas for improvements in internal processes along with possible solutions, complies with and helps to enforce standard policies and procedures, may be asked to participate in special projects.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s Degree preferred, 5 years of experience in Marketing; veterinary experience preferred, excellent consulting skills, possesses general understanding in the areas of application programming, database and system design, excellent client management and business literacy skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, develop strong trusting relationships in order to gain support and achieve results, effectively envision, develop and implement new strategies to address competitive, complex business issues, strong leader, manage multiple conflicting priorities, be self-directed and motivated, proficiency with Microsoft Office Products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, some overnight travel required.
