Vice President of Marketing – Pacific Northwest

Vice President of Marketing-Pacific Northwest location. This role is to strengthen the overall marketing capabilities of the company and to lead the portfolio strategy for all segments of the company which includes products and service. The incumbent will drive marketing priorities through initiatives that will enhance and align best-in-class marketing and will develop and execute a multi-year strategic roadmap to leverage the overall portfolio.

The incumbent will:

Strengthen marketing capabilities through:
Influence model mapping and influencer management
Co-ordinates aligned and common understanding of how to map the influence process and leverage learning and understanding of insights
Identifies and analyzes insight data, trends and threats to products.
Marketing mix optimization vis a vis the influence model
Collaborates in the delivery of cohesive marketing plans across the product portfolio.
Provides guidance on role of typical tactics for consideration.
Provides guidance on targeting and segmentation strategies for differentiated messaging.
Marketing strategy and tactical development
Coordinates and drives the execution key marketing initiatives to ensure the creation of a best-in-class marketing organization across products and services.
Coordinates closely with Retail Sales Force Head to drive consistent and effective execution with the sales organization.
Functions as internal point of contact on best in class marketing practices, serving as the expert on pet healthcare influence marketing.
Conducts competitive assessments on marketing mix and trends (such as emergence of digital strategies, non-personal promotion options etc,) providing feedback, strategic insights and recommendations to segment leads.
Designs, hires and leads the best-in-class marketing organization

Lead the overall portfolio strategy through:
Multi-year strategic roadmap to grow the brand equity
Identifies and analyzes consumer and veterinary service insight data and trends.
Identifies opportunities and threats to products, and anticipating future market changes.
Evaluates product positioning and strategy by retail customer/partner.
Initiates and champion plans for innovations and new products for the business, leading cross functional project teams.
Leads programs and projects, working with segments, partners and other functions to deliver total business growth
Assists in development and support of marketing plans, including product launches, pricing, positioning, research, that align with business & brand strategy.
Functions as internal point of contact on all brands, serving as the expert on brand equity as well as the expert on key marketing issues and opportunities.
Develops and recommends performance benchmarks for marketing. Monitors and tracks performance, reporting on profit and other metrics, assessing gaps, and assisting marketing team in development of corrective action plans.
Partners closely with sales, assisting sales team in informing and influencing their partners on matters pertaining to the animal health segment.
Maintains focus on long term business needs while delivering short term priorities.

Qualifications:
Required experience and qualifications

Advanced degree in business or a related discipline.
A minimum of 15 years business experience in Animal Health or Healthcare-related businesses.
Prior Consultant/Vendor/Agency Management experience required.
Mastery of core marketing principles and practices.
Must be skilled in advertising, retail, and understanding consumer influence.
Must have prior experience developing successful product marketing strategies and implementing marketing plans / campaigns.
Multi-channel management experience preferred.
Proven Innovation & entrepreneurial mindset.
Strategic and business management skills, advanced negotiation skills.
Business execution skills: process management, performance management.
Charismatic leader, people development track record.

Excellent relational and communication skills, comfortable with public speaking.
A thorough understanding of the marketing process, including market research, strategic planning, product and brand development, advertising, trend and consumer promotions.
Experience preferred in categories and regulatory environment related to health care.
