We are actively seeking a Vice President of Hospital Operations to be an integral part of a fast-growing team in the Veterinary space. The practice owns multiple hospitals, and we need a dynamic professional for the job.
In this pivotal role, you’ll mentor hospital leadership teams, build top-tier workflows, and make sure that the highest industry standards are met at every one of the animal hospitals.
Not only are we looking for a truly empathetic and personable VP, but we also need someone who is ready to provide hands-on guidance and extensive training in various administrative aspects, human resources, recruitment, and assist in P&L management.
Being able to guide both doctors and support staff at each of our hospitals, ensuring cohesive and efficient operations, is vital to this role.
This company has a great number of independent veterinary hospitals, many of which have significantly grown since acquisition or opening. They are highly profitable and well-positioned for more growth with strong support from the ownership team.
Help reduce costs, collaborate with ownership teams, establish KPIs, expand medical services, identify potential risks in medical operations and implement risk mitigation strategies, meet budgetary goals, and generally be there as a support system for our staff.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience as a supervisor/leader in operations with at least 5+ years of multisite experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- DVM/VMD is highly preferred but not required
- Healthcare industry background a plus
- Strong leadership acumen; successful team management and development
- Prior P&L management experience. Demonstrated track record of successful fiscal and operating leadership; demonstrated financial expertise; prior ownership of hospital a plus
- Experience working in a matrix organization with the ability to manage multiple priorities across various stakeholders and departments
- Demonstrated strong analytical, quantitative, and logical thinking skills
- Excellent EQ and the ability to build relationships with other leaders in the organization including the local hospital doctor partners
- Advanced computer skills and proficiency in MS Excel
- Availability for regional travel; up to 60% of the time
