Poultry Sales Representative

This role has a flexible location but preference is within the southeastern US.

The incumbent will maximize sales within an assigned territory by influencing customers to purchase and/or resell appropriate Company products. The sales representative  will promote selling and supporting research and commercial data to live production managers, nutritionists, veterinarians and key university poultry departments. The position will sell to poultry integrators and feed ingredient manufacturers and will build strong relationships with customers. The incumbent will monitor product volumes and dollar budgets, keeping informed of competitive activities, new products and industry trends and report this information to sales management. The incumbent will implement approved sales programs and or promotions by detailing appropriate customer personnel and will develop and implement annual business and marketing plans that include long range objectives and plans to achieve optimal distribution strategies for the Poultry product portfolio within the territory and will participate in local, state, regional and national industry association meetings when appropriate.

Qualifications include strong working knowledge of one or more sector(s) in US Poultry Industry-broilers, turkeys, commercial layers and breeders, 7-10 years of related sales experience, strong computer skills, strong key account management experience, comfort level and experience with multiple decision makers, ability to work in a multi-functional team based environment, strong presentation skills and ability to plan strategically. The incumbent will have the ability to detail technical information to industry nutritionists, veterinarians and live production managers. A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Science or Business with 7+ years of experience in agricultural product sales; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
