Operations Director – Veterinary

Operations Director. We are looking for a high potential Director of Operations who has the acumen to become a COO or CEO. This would be a good opportunity for someone who has a private equity or investment banking background who has seen how different business work and aspires to gain operational experience running a $30MM P&L with a rapidly growing veterinary services business.  The (Veterinary Business) Operations Director provides support to an assigned group of veterinary practice. The incumbent will be charged with handling quality care outcomes, people leadership, financial and operational performance, relationship management, strategic execution, and compliance to industry standards/regulations. The incumbent will collaboratively set goals, identify measures to evaluate and implement a system to track performance against those goals. The incumbent will establish a learning environment to support the development of behaviors, knowledge and skills to achieve goals, addresses performance improvements and/or declines in a timely manager. The incumbent will build a successful team and will develop direct, structure and provide goals to provide clarity of purpose among the team. The incumbent will involve others and seek ideas and input when solving problems, making decisions and executing plans. The incumbent will update the team with information and progress to goals/objectives; recognizes and celebrates accomplishments.

The incumbent will leverage industry, financial and internal data to assess business strategies and anticipate the impact to operations and will apply analytical approach to developing process driven action plans to accomplish key performance goals. The incumbent will actively listen and communicate openly, often, professionally and respectfully. The incumbent will build rapport with key stakeholders and gain commitment from others to take action. The incumbent will frame messages to deliver clearly and concisely while checking other’s understanding of the information communicated. The Operations Director will drive for results and set challenging personal and team goals and tenaciously work to meet and exceed the goals as well as measure and monitor progress towards goals while staying focused on achievement. The Operations Director will engage people to develop effective relationships and generate buy-in to the company vision, mission and values. The Operations Director will sustain a positive outlook and inspire confidence in others. The Operations Director will translate the vision into practical strategy within the operating purview and will gather and organize information to evaluate and select strategy.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree preferred, 3+ years of leadership experience in a multi-site environment, ability to travel within a region. We need an analytical person for this role.
