General Manager / Vice President

General Manager/Vice President.  We are searching for a General Manager/Vice President to lead the P&L for a $40MM company that is expecting to grow to $250-$300MM in the next 24 months. Look at this opportunity as a junior CEO of this business unit. In this role, the incumbent will lead the organization to support efforts to achieve goals including revenue & profit growth, operational excellence and staff development. This role is responsible for leading, managing, overseeing and executing this business unit including the development of brand positioning and commercial strategy, concept and core message development to achieve sales objectives. This role will be accountable for developing and managing the brand’s promotional budget. This will require relationships development and communication with strategic partners, executive team and the field sales organization.

The incumbent will collaborate with executive leadership to establish and accomplish annual goals and objectives as well as strategic plans for the organization. The incumbent will ensure all programs are consistent and compliant with the latest laws, guidance and corporate policies. The incumbent will be responsible for all key aspects of managed markets, commercial advisory boards and sales training activities as they relate to departmental initiatives. The incumbent will partner with sales leadership to ensure challenges are identified and addressed. The incumbent will lead the strategic development, analysis and execution of the integrated strategic brand plans, will analyze product and market opportunities and recommend pricing, distribution and service strategies to ensure market penetration, market growth and customer satisfaction. The incumbent will develop, update, maintain budget responsibilities and P&L for the business unit initiatives. The incumbent will maintain a market analysis defining the total market, company market share, competitor market share and available market share by product. The incumbent will analyze the market landscape to understand competitive positions, market dynamics and seek opportunities. The incumbent will provide the strategies, updates and control of forecasts covering projected new business sales, proposal activity/costs and investment requirements by customer and program. The incumbent will identify new product opportunities to promote revenue, growth and profitability. The incumbent will negotiate with third party vendors and drive optimal value for brands. The incumbent will regularly attend industry meetings to meet with clients to understand needs and will maintain strong working relationships with Key Industry Associations and advisory groups, will lead, manage and develop staff.

Qualifications include: BA/BS degree in science, chemistry, biology, economics, advertising, business administration or relate field; Master’s Degree preferred, strong management experience including demonstrated team building and leadership, 14 years of animal health, pharmaceutical sales or marketing experience. Understanding of the core principles of brand management, including brand positioning, messaging and overall campaign, experience working collaborating with external experts and professional medical associations.

Ability to analyze complex situations to identify root cause and quickly create solutions with clear direction
Polished interpersonal and communication style with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, to persuade and to clearly explain complex technical insights to a wide variety of audiences, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to work cross-functionally with a highly collaborative approach in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated commitment to building trusted relationships with clients
Ability to successfully establish priorities and manage time efficiently while working under pressure and dealing with ambiguity
Passionate, results oriented and focused
Extensive computer use.
Business travel required (up to 50% of time).
