The General Manager will oversee the daily operation of the facility to provide and maintain standards of conduct, cleanliness and safety. The GM will supervise managers and employees including the assistant manager, kennel manager, daycare manager, 5-10 supervisors, kennel technicians, receptionists, daycare attendants, groomers and bathers. The GM is responsible for schedule planning, assigning and directing work, managing efficiency, overall direction, coordination and evaluation of the boarding, grooming and group play areas based on occupancy and reservation system.

The GM will handle HR Management. This entails supervising, training and coaching staff based on company standards and training guidelines including overseeing the training of all new hires. The GM will handle employee correction, including disciplinary action such as warnings, write-ups, suspensions and terminations. The GM will process payroll.

The GM will handle Inventory Management. This entails conducting or supervising supply purchases 1-2 times per week.

The GM will handle Marketing/Advertising. This involves event planning, print and electronic marketing avenues and execution of these. This entails engagement through the use of social media platforms including Facebook and Instagram.

The GM will be responsible for building maintenance. This entails monitoring the building daily for maintenance and repair needs arranges for repairs//contract labor. This entails being directly responsible for monitoring and ensuring the facility is cleaned/sanitized per company standards.

The GM will handle accounting and reporting. This includes handling accounts receivables and payables. The GM will prepare daily deposits. The GM will use QuickBooks management, entering all revenue and purchases to create reports to be reviewed with ownership (P&L, balance sheet, etc.).

Qualifications include a self-motivated, detail-oriented professional who can demonstrate a proven track record of providing an excellent client service experience. The incumbent will be able to oversee the complete operation of the facility, from daily operations and staff management to customer service and public relations.  Must be able to work weekends and holidays, as those are some of the busiest times. Must be willing to be on call at all times and provide assistance. This position requires two years of direct management experience in a related animal business (veterinary hospital or boarding facility)
