Director Business Development – Evaluation and Diligence (East Coast)

The Director Business Development will play a crucial role in developing and executing the organization’s growth strategy. This position is part of a team that evaluates and executes acquisitions, makes strategic decisions and drives company growth and profitability. The incumbent will work closely with senior leadership and will provide financial evaluations and recommendations on potential acquisitions and partnerships. The Director will lead the team responsible for asset evaluation as well as preliminary and final due diligence of companies. The incumbent will partner with operations, integration and legal teams to ensure the overall acquisition process is efficient and effective.

This role is at the forefront of merger and acquisition transactions and the individual must be focused on details while maintaining a big picture perspective. The incumbent will work closely with senior and executive leadership and will serve as the primary owner of the acquisition evaluation and diligence process. The incumbent will work with finance and business development to prepare and analyze financial models for potential acquisitions and growth opportunities and will organize and conduct preliminary and final due diligence on potential acquisition targets. The incumbent will ensure the team works in collaboration with finance, operations and legal to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the acquisition process. the incumbent will conduct and present research, prepare reports and communicate clearly.

Qualifications include strong quantitative and analytical skills and a solid business and financial acumen. The successful candidate will be a team player with solid interpersonal and organization skills and be able to influence others. Other qualifications include having a big picture orientation while being detail oriented and a strong understanding of valuation methodologies and financial statement analysis. Our ideal candidate will have a sense or urgency and high integrity and have discretion in handling confidential information.

Other qualifications include an MBA or Master’s Degree in business or finance, 8 years in business development, 4 years of experience in investment banking, private equity or merger and acquisition analysis or finance. High level of proficiency in MS Office Suite with experience presenting data and financial analysis with MS Excel and Power point. Familiarity with the animal health or retail industries is preferred.
