In this role as a Customer Marketer, you will be responsible for local market brand development within key sales channels and partners in the US. The focus is on brick and mortar stores. In this role the incumbent will gather and leverage insights and knowledge around consumer, shopper and customer market dynamics to then develop and implement the optimal promotional plan with key customers, aligning with brand and portfolio strategy.
The incumbent will lead the customer marketing planning process to deliver plans that include account/channel objectives, strategies and tactics. The incumbent will develop and execute distinct, breakthrough customer marketing solutions for designated accounts that are grounded in shopper insights, address retailer/shopper needs and get executed with excellence along the shopper journey, including pre-shop at retail. The incumbent will build deep, collaborative partnerships with designated Customer Teams and provide thought leadership on customer marketing and shopper insights. The incumbent will influence and collaborate with Brand Marketing, providing thought leadership and education on retailer/shopper insights and customer marketing plans and programs.
The incumbent will handle local market brand development within key sales channels and partners in the US, develop strong partnerships with agencies, leading them through program development and execution by providing clear direction and inspiring them to deliver great work. The incumbent will build relationships within the retailer’s marketing organization leading to mutually beneficial solutions and action plans. The incumbent will partner with Key Account Managers on sales calls and selling customer marketing solutions into account decision makers. The incumbent will evaluate developed solution effectiveness and ensure continuous improvement and best practice sharing and will educate internal stakeholders on designated accounts strategies, priorities and opportunities. The incumbent will align trade marketing activity, point of sale and value add items to ensure best in class quality and cost effectiveness with agencies and suppliers. Other responsibilities include ensuring brand and company point of sale items for core and promotional items remains relevant and up to date and manage inventory. The incumbent will manage trade show footprints and communications.
Qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in marketing or business with 5+ years of experience working as a customer marketer or CPG marketing experience with a manufacturer. Other requirements include a strong commercial focus, strong understanding of shopper insights, ability to understand and draw insights from Nielsen, GfK and other market data sources, CPG and retailer environment background, strong understanding of omni-channel environment, highly motivated, enthusiastic and passionate, strong people skills and ability to work as part of a team, strong communication skills both written and verbal and excellent stakeholder management skills, excellent project management and organization skills, ability to multitask and prioritize, ability to meet deadlines and demonstrate a sense of urgency, attention to detail and accuracy, self-motivated and a can do attitude, ability to liaise with and present concepts to management and external agencies. Ability and willingness to travel is up to 25%.
Qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree preferred, 3+ years of leadership experience in a multi-site environment, ability to travel within a region. We need an analytical person for this role.
