Chief Operations Officer

Chief Operations Officer-Our client who is an Animal Health company is searching for a Chief Operations Officer (COO). This role reports to the CEO and is one of the most critical and visible roles in the organization. In this role the incumbent will provide leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure that the organization has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures and people systems in place to effectively grow the organization and to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency. This role provides leadership and management and is responsible for driving the organization to achieve and surpass sales, profitability, cash flow and business goals and objectives. The incumbent is responsible for the measurement and effectiveness of all processes internal and external and will provide timely, accurate and complete reports on the operating condition of the company. The incumbent will take the lead in the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes. The incumbent will collaborate with the leadership team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes and personnel designed to accommodate the rapid growth objectives of the organization. This role requires competencies in the areas of leadership, strategic thinking, and financial management. In addition the successful candidate will be results driven and have a solid business acumen and solid decision making skills. The incumbent will represent the company with clients, investors and business partners. This role has supervisory responsibility for corporate operations. This role will oversee Human Resources, Operations, the Facility, Finance, Research and Development and Business Development.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, with 8-10+ years of strong operational experience and 5+ years in a leadership role. Other qualifications include demonstrated experience in financial planning and analysis with previous experience overseeing human resources. Other qualifications include skills in organizational development, financial management, personnel management, budget and resource development and strategic planning. Excellent communication and people skills, with an ability to partner with a dynamic leadership team is required. The successful candidate will have personal qualities of integrity, credibility and commitment to the corporate mission. The successful candidate will be flexible and be able to work in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment, while driving toward clarity and solutions. We are looking for someone with demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems. Experience in the Animal Health Industry, Human Pharmaceutical Industry or Biotech Industry is highly preferred.
