Chief Operating Officer
Chief Operating Officer. We are looking for a Chief Operating Officer or COO to oversee and develop the organization’s ongoing operations and procedures. The COO is a key member of the senior leadership team, reporting to the CEO. In this role, the incumbent will maintain control of diverse business operations and will be expected to be an experienced and efficient leader. The goal of the COO is to secure the functionality of the business to drive extensive and sustainable growth. The COO will design and implement operational strategies, plans and procedures to support consistent product supply and maximization of resources. The COO will practice continuous process improvement efforts to maximize efficiencies, reduce waste and grow profitability. The COO will set comprehensive goals for performance and growth and will establish policies that promote company, culture and vision. The COO will oversee the daily operations of the company and the work of executives (IT, Marketing, Sales, Finance, etc.). The COO will lead employees to encourage maximum performance and dedication and will evaluate performances by analyzing and interpreting data and metrics. The COO will write and submit reports to the CEO in all matters of importance and will assist the CEO in fundraising ventures. The COO will participate in expansion activities (Investments, acquisitions, corporate alliances, etc.) and will manage relationships with partners/vendors.
Qualifications include proven experience as an operational executive in a product focused company, experience in an international supply chain and logistics management experience, preferably in the life sciences sector or other highly regulated industry. Other qualifications include experience with managing business functions such as HR, IT, Facilities, etc. The successful candidate will have demonstrable competency in strategic planning and execution, working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics, working knowledge of IT/Business infrastructure and MS Office, outstanding organizational and leadership abilities, aptitude in decision-making and problem solving. Experience in fundraising is a plus. BS/BA in Supply Chain Management, Logistics and/or Business Administration or relevant field is required. An MBA is a plus.
