Bio device Technical Services Manager – Poultry

Bio device Technical Services Senior Manager Poultry -(Atlanta or field based in the Eastern US Region)-We are looking for a people leader who will lead, coordinate and manage all technical and mechanical responsibilities of the Bio Device business within the assigned region which will include the Eastern Shore of MD/VA/DE to TN/KY to AL. The Senior Manager will manage a team of Field Service Managers along with a team of Technical Service Representatives. The main responsibilities will be to ensure all Bio Device Customers receive excellent support while managing regional P&L. This will be achieved through effective leadership, coaching and development of a team of Field Colleagues. The goal is to acquire and retain top talent while sustaining the organization’s ranking as a Best in Class Field Service Program.

The Senior Manager will have the ability to function in a team atmosphere with an understanding of how to leverage key personnel to meet customer needs. The incumbent will lead and organize troubleshooting team in resolution of process issues at customer’s site, provide service/support to achieve Bio Device sales, manage the overall financial expenses as it relates to the business for the assigned area and conduct frequent ride along with all reporting personnel. This person will spend time with other Field Service Managers. The goal is to continue to improve the day to day operations within the area. The incumbent will oversee the execution of the process evaluation program and will lead all communication for field service activities within their assigned region. The incumbent will manage the routine collection and reporting of all information within the CRM system and will coordinate the execution of an established field service program across an area. The incumbent will plan and coordinate effective training classes and educational sessions on safety, personal development and devices for reporting personnel and implement effective procedures for all subordinates in safety, mechanical, electrical and hatchery environment progresses. The incumbent will provide regular feedback of customer derived information evaluation services and other pertinent client/vendor information to sales and service management and initiate changes where appropriate. The incumbent will develop and implement improvement plans for colleagues in the assigned region.

The incumbent will plan and coordinate appropriate engineering change notifications for the assigned area, establish standards for baseline functions and instill flexibility in region to customize according to customer operating criteria and preferences, build the development and testing of new devices, components and procedures designed to improve the operation, reliability or convenience of all systems, develop and lead all equipment installations across the us. As the business expands into other areas, the Senior Manager will be tasked with establishing new service programs to support growth. The incumbent will lead the recruiting and hiring of new colleagues in the region and mentor, coach and develop assigned colleagues.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in poultry science or related field with 10+ years of related experience. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of people management experience. Someone with an engineering degree, mechanical or electrical or quality engineering degree is ideal, poultry is not a requirement but is preferred. The successful candidate will need to talk with and listen to customers and have a solution mindset and look for answers rather than to push an agenda on a customer or employee. This is a customer focused approach. Someone who is willing to make a change, adapt on the fly is important. This is not an office job 8-5. Customers operate 24/7. Calls require travel to customers and there is not a static job schedule. The machines run at different times during the week and this individual will work with about 90 hatcheries. Much of the work is done in a hatchery where exposure to a potentially hazardous environment is possible. Heat and humidity above average is common. The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills, established coaching skills, have excellent organizations skills, be a strong critical thinker, problem solver with initiative and sound judgment, proven skills in interpreting and communicate Hatchery Air Plating Program results, have a proven mechanical aptitude. Bilingual (English and Spanish) is preferred but not required. There is a 60-80% travel requirements. Travel will be about 3 overnights per week.
