Vice President, Animal Health – Business Development, Commercial Strategy, and Operations  #7444

We are seeking an experienced Animal Health Industry professional to fill the role of Vice President.

This is an opportunity for a self-starter to join a dynamic team and work in the rapidly expanding animal health technology product market. We are looking for a commercial leader who has a minimum of 10 years of experience in the small animal orthopedic commercial arena or small animal sports medicine commercial field.

The ideal candidate has a proven track record for evaluating new business opportunities and acquiring promising assets that will grow existing revenues.

We are seeking a creative and quantitative thinker to develop and implement the most profitable plans to position and promote both current and new products. Strong expertise in digital social media marketing through social and search advertising is imperative.

The candidate must be adept at launching impactful media campaigns that drive results and place a myopic and passionate focus on reaching the target audience through social media.

We are looking for a self-starter to roll up their sleeves to achieve revenue targets and corporate goals. You will create KPIs (key performance indicators) for driving tactical milestones to meet or exceed corporate goals.

Key Functions of This Role Include the Following:

Market Analysis

  • Liaison with Opinion Leaders and outside associations that may be appropriate to assist in marketing the assigned products.
  • Monitor publications, journals, and competitor information and comment accordingly.
  • Perform market research, setting clear objectives and appropriate briefs.
  • Follow and analyze market trends to successfully position our product lines.

Marketing Duties

  • Develop product marketing strategies and plans.
  • Develop compelling messages across marketing channels and translate technical product details into benefits for the animal and its owner.
  • Work cross-functionally to implement strategies.
  • Create training materials and training programs.
  • Prepare and execute an annual marketing plan with input from the appropriate internal customers.
  • Manage the accuracy, compliance, and production of all selling and promotional materials according to marketing plans.
  • Coordinate marketing materials for trade shows and conferences.
  • Lead new product launch activities and liaise with all relevant departments to ensure launch objectives are met.
  • Prepare the promotional budget and spend it according to plan.
  • Participate in portfolio management activities including forecasting and market analysis.
  • Travel as necessary to conferences.
  • Maintain regular communications with key accounts.

Reporting & Planning

  • Evaluate projects using relevant KPIs and feedback from existing and prospective customers.
  • Based on marketing plans, produce quarterly promotional plans with specific metrics and reporting.
  • Contribute to the company’s annual budget process by defining marketing budgets and key projects, and producing annual marketing plans for each product or product portfolio.
  • Define the long-term outlook for the company through participation in the strategic planning process.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a head of Commercial in the animal health industry.
  • Experience in market analysis.
  • Familiar with product marketing strategy and tactical development.
  • MBA or master’s degree in marketing, communications, or similar field.
  • Working knowledge of web analytics tools.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Analytical mind and strong quantitative skills.
  • Experience in the US animal health industry (small animal).
  • Track record of success in business-to-business negotiations.

The ability to function independently in a multi-task environment, as well as part of a team, is imperative.
