We are looking for a Director of Operations to oversee day to day activities for a growing number of veterinary practices in multiple states across the United States.The Director of Operations will have responsibility for operations which includes staffing, managing the overall budgeting process, overseeing key performance indicators including costs, accounts receivables, accounts payables, cost of goods oversight, auditing and personnel.This position is inclusive of the items listed below and will continue to evolve with scale of growth, so flexibility is necessary.
Operations• Manage day-to-day operations within veterinary practice locations directly and via direct report team.• Oversee the Client Experience and its training and execution across all locations. Consistently monitor, measure and retrain across all veterinary practice locations.• Partner with Regional Medical Operations Managers to consistently execute company protocols within all locations.• Lead, develop and evaluate Area Business Managers to positively affect quality service delivery and financial results• Build and institutionalize clinic processes and infrastructure • Oversee and manage appropriate staffing levels and payroll process for all locations directly and via direct report team.• Create and maintain performance management standards for all individuals, including medical staff for all veterinary practice locations.• Create and coordinate communications platform across all veterinary practice locations.• Promote continuous quality improvement.• Partner with marketing team to ensure appropriate strategies for each location are created, executed and modify as needed to ensure appropriate demand creation.• Drive revenue and influence mix of sales throughout all veterinary practice locations.
Financial• Create operational budgets and manage all locations to perform within those budgets.• In collaboration with the COO, oversee the P&L rollup and management of individual locations via direct reporting team.• Develop, monitor, and report on operating costs within functional areas. Alert management of cost and labor over run. Make recommendations and implement solutions to problems related to same.• Develop and maintain appropriate cash handling procedures and all other assets to protect the company against loss from negligence and theft.• Perform special analytical, statistical, and financial analysis as required.• Partner with Finance to manage accounts payable, and accounts receivables for all locations as well as National. Work with the Business Analytics and Operations Officer to understand and create adherence to all performance metrics.
Talent/People Operations• Develop a best-in-class training and learning environment that supports the organization’s career progression and succession planning initiatives and enhances its high-performance culture.• Hire, train, develop and appraise staff effectively. Take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy. Consult with human resources as appropriate.• Collaborate with company Recruiters to ensure appropriate staffing across all locations.
