This is a new venture within the existing veterinary and humane nonprofit. The current organization is highly regarded in the community and attracts excellent leadership and support staff. There is a daytime veterinary facility with two doctors and support staff.

The Emergency Veterinarian Role

More About the Hospital 

There are a number of communities that will be served by this emergency service which will be headquartered in Chico. Chico has a CSU campus of undergraduates and masters’ students. It is growing and attracting more high technology and new venture companies recently. It has a reasonable real estate and cost of living profile that is attractive to people from the Bay Area and southern CA. as well as a richer cultural life than similarly sized cities. The surrounding communities are largely prosperous agricultural communities and small commuting locations.

Our new humane society’s 9,000 sq ft facility houses a full-service hospital to which appropriate additional services for emergencies can be added. A criticalist will supply the expertise, leadership and coaching required to create a team of excellent professionals. Administrative and other management tasks will be handled through the existing support structure leaving ample time and flexibility to build and support a team.

This is a new undertaking, but the group is comprised of experienced entrepreneurs, managers, and veterinarians.
