We are seeking an Associate Director of Business Development and Market Evaluation for an Animal Health company.

This position will use heavy analytics alongside business and market acumen to support the evaluation and execution of external growth initiatives and the market evaluation of internal opportunities. They will collaborate with marketing to generate the business case and analytical models required to support multiple business development transactions. This position will also gather feedback from internal experts and generate detailed models required to support product launches. As part of the global business development team, this position will also aim at identifying and negotiating opportunities of interest for North America and potentially global targets.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Prospect regional markets for new partners, new products, and new technologies using strong data analytics, networking, and general knowledge of the markets
• Work closely with internal partners, generate financial and demand models required to support the various business development transactions
• Facilitate the commercial, technical, and strategic assessment of new product opportunities to be implemented by the business
• Facilitate the commercial, technical, and strategic evaluations through various assessment steps as determined by the nature of the opportunity
• Ensure that communications and discussion with the negotiation partner are optimal to the nature of the proposed deal and projected timelines
• Negotiate the best possible conditions for the company, sustainability, and profitability will be the main drivers for any contractual negotiation

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or similar field including Science/Analytics; Master’s degree or MBA preferred
• 8-10 years’ experience in business development or a senior marketing preferred. Other related and non-related areas will be considered (pet food, human, pharmaceutical, etc.)
• Experience in the animal health industry is a plus
• Working knowledge of commercial development highly desired, including identifying targets, complex negotiations, deal structures
• Strong communication negotiation skills: we are seeking a creative thinker who is organized and responsive
• Strong project management and analytical skills balanced by results orientation and a focus on meeting deliverables
• Excellent written and verbal communication and influencing skills
• Ability to make pertinent and courageous decisions, demonstrate a customer focus attitude
