Director Technical Services Global Poultry

The Director is responsible for leading and coordinating all technical service support activities and will lead a team of technical experts who will assist poultry colleagues in the areas of Poultry Nutrition, feed additives, vaccines, poultry husbandry and other poultry related services. This role will work closely with sales and marketing organizations in the coordination of market visits, participation in key poultry events and internal technical activities as well as representing the organization in key Poultry industry meetings. The Director will lead Outcomes research activities across regions and will oversee these studies via direct reports.  The incumbent will provide technical input and aid in conducting technical training programs, participate in discussions with other areas within Global Poultry to provide expertise and provide feedback for technical related subjects. The Director will demonstrate grasp of the economics that drive all segments of the poultry industry and ability to communicate to customers and team on this subject. The Director will manage outcomes research budget and project schedule/tracking. This position will have direct reports.

Qualifications include a Degree in Veterinary Medicine, Poultry Nutrition or equivalent with a Master’s Degree or PhD and 15 years of experience in the Animal Health or Agricultural industry. Field experience in Poultry Industry or Poultry Health is preferred. Experience with corporate research and development is a plus. Poultry production experience in feed additives or poultry vaccines is preferred. The successful candidate will be Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint and must have excellent writing skills and ability to product technical articles suitable  for publication in scientific or and technical journals. There is a 30-40% international travel requirement.

Professional Services Veterinarian – Los Angeles

The incumbent will provide educational, professional and technical support to sales in the region in order to facilitate sales of our clients products. Will travel weekly (3-4 days per week, 10 weeks per quarter on average). Assist sales with teaching, coaching and training. Provide direct support to veterinarians, veterinary practices and staff, veterinary colleges and research veterinarians, provide seminars to practices and veterinary associations or meetings. Provide support to Sales and Marketing at assigned veterinary conventions and trade shows. Provide materials and support to the Director of Professionals Services and others including the Director of Marketing, Product Managers, etc. as directed by the Director of Professional Services for materials, programs and training development. Professional Services Director / Veterinary Affairs

The incumbent will manage and lead the organization’s professional relationships with the veterinary community (veterinary accounts and specialty practices), Key Thought Leaders, veterinary associations and societies, schools, veterinary special interest groups and veterinary technicians (schools and associations). The incumbent will develop a publishing strategy against planned product launches, will provide internal leadership and guidance to management to improve the quality of veterinarian-focused decision making and to assure technical accuracy in all communications, product quality control and optimal compliant management. The incumbent will offer the organization’s veterinary expertise in the area of small animal medicine to distributors and to their customers to support the organization’s veterinarian endorsement goals, sales and profit objectives. The incumbent will develop programs specific to veterinary faculties which can contribute to the organization’s leadership position in the community and will establish communications strategies for veterinarians and Key Thought/Opinion Leaders.

Qualifications include a Veterinary Degree, 15+ years of small animal veterinary experience, PhD, DACIM and/or relevant post-graduate qualifications or board certification highly regarded, prior experienced in the animal health or pharmaceutical industry, active in veterinary association(s) at national or state level, established professional network across specialty practice and academics, practice management experience highly regarded, strong commercial interest/business experience, solid understanding of clinical business practices, excellent written communication and public speaking skills, ability to travel interstate and overseas by air.
