Director of Professional Services

The Director of Professional service is responsible for technical services, product training, and research support for products, including  performing, managing and overseeing technical service veterinarians and other assigned support staff.  The incumbent manages technical service functions including responding to internal and external inquires; as well as manages adverse event reporting and investigation including responses to inquiries, follow-up phone calls to complaints, recommendations on steps to take to resolve the complaint and completion of all subsequent required paperwork.  The incumbent manages support of the sales and marketing teams, as well as the training of sales representatives on products, facilitation and participation of role plays and teach backs; and develops and administers product exams to help evaluate sales team product knowledge levels.  The incumbent will travel in field to make calls with sales personnel to important customers who would respond favorably to the presence of a DVM.  Additionally, the incumbent will assist in drafting, editing, and writing product information sheets, technical materials, tech bulletins, competitor product data sheets and articles for the company blog.  The incumbent will create, review and approve Power Point presentations from technical perspective for use in the field.  Scientific evaluation as well as assisting in the market research on the current and new product concepts including competitive products will also be assigned. 

Qualifications include a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine with a current state license in good standing to practice veterinary medicine in the United States.  Post doctoral experience in clinical practice, academia, research, or industry is a plus.  Direct experience with personal computer, keyboard and software packaged including: Windows, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and CRM; computer used in 70% of job activities; and excellent interpersonal and communication skills including experience presenting educational programs. Travel is required up to 40% of time.

Ruminant Nutrition Director

(Flexible location can be East Coast, Mid-Atlantic, Upper Midwest or Northeast)

We are seeking a technical leader of ruminant nutrition for an established feed ingredient company. The incumbent will be in charge of the technical support, leadership and training and will assist in the implementation of new technical and product strategies. We are looking or a self-starter in the implementation of new technical and product strategies. We seek someone with an entrepreneurial spirit as the organization prides itself on mainlining a creative and flexible culture. The Director will provide customer technical/nutritional assistance, will conduct nutritionist/producer technical training meetings, will be a resource for other technical service contemporaries, will develop and implement nutritional training for internal personnel and will provide on-farm support to personnel, consultants and producers.  The incumbent will develop and maintain a working relationship with key personnel at all animal agricultural universities, will provide information on product technology to staff and students, will present software and training to dairy nutrition students and staff and will search for new product ideas to develop and market. New product development responsibilities involve actively exploring and soliciting new product ideas, utilizing relationships with university personnel and industry contacts and evaluating possible synergies between internal and external product lines. Technical communication responsibilities entail working closely with National sales and marketing manager to evaluate both of these group needs, determine how the organization can best communicate and support these business segments, prepare written communications to target these groups; work closely with public relations to generate positive exposure aimed at influencing the consultant and large herd targets, establish working relationships with customer/prospect lead technical representatives. Research Project Management responsibilities entail designing protocols and facilitating the development and project management associated with controlled research projects, commercial research trials management from design, dairy selection, to date collection and conduct statistical analysis on commercial research trials. Quality control responsibilities entail maintaining products and records to be compliant with established standards, reviewing and monitoring quality control manual and procedures and monitoring quality controls results and recommend alterations when required. 

Qualifications include 10+ years of dairy background and corresponding technical experience, graduate degree in animal or dairy science, demonstrated track record of success in technical dairy science practice application, ability to asses, analyze and problem solve commercial large dairy herd function, keep up to date with industry topics and direction, strong computer skills including Microsoft office products and the aptitude to learn multiple dairy ration balancing programs. PhD or DVM preferred.

Professional Services Veterinarian – Texas / Central US

The incumbent will provide educational, professional and technical support to sales in the region in order to facilitate sales of our clients products. Will travel weekly (3-4 days per week, 10 weeks per quarter on average). Assist sales with teaching, coaching and training. Provide direct support to veterinarians, veterinary practices and staff, veterinary colleges and research veterinarians, provide seminars to practices and veterinary associations or meetings. Provide support to Sales and Marketing at assigned veterinary conventions and trade shows. Provide materials and support to the Director of Professionals Services and others including the Director of Marketing, Product Managers, etc. as directed by the Director of Professional Services for materials, programs and training development. Provide training/seminars to employees at assigned meetings and events. Identify and cultivate the cooperation of key opinion leaders to further promote our client’s products. Provide weekly reports to management as well as identifying areas of improvement in the region.

Qualifications include a DVM or equivalent degree. 3 years clinical experience or 1 year internship. Industry experience preferred. Must be able to pass a background investigation including driving records. Experience in clinical medicine and surgery. Knowledge of Clinical Pathology and Chemistry.

Veterinary Technical Sales Representative

The incumbent will answer incoming phone calls from sales representatives and customers, including veterinary office staff, clients/consumers and will provide answers to general inquiries regarding routine product use, such as clarification and information stated on label or product. The incumbent will respond to customers and will document and communicate adverse events, complaints and inquiries within regulatory guidelines. The incumbent will upgrade technical expertise by reading journals and attending scientific seminars and will possess good computer skills and knowledge of the business and knowledge of common veterinary medical conditions of major animal species, current medical procedures and treatments.

Qualifications include AA degree with active valid RVT Certification and a minimum of three years veterinary clinic experience. The incumbent must have computer and keyboard experience and be current and knowledgeable in all aspects of veterinary medicine. The incumbent must be a team player and self-starter with a positive helpful attitude. There is a 5% travel requirement.

Veterinarian – Genetics – Herd

The incumbent will provide technical expertise in health management including biosecurity; disease identification, prevention, control and treatment; regulatory and food safety requirements. The Veterinarian will share in fiduciary responsibility for health decisions. The successful candidate will provide management with fiscally and socially responsible strategies for managing the health of the animals and will maintain routine communication with the Genetics leadership monitoring Genetics and Health departmental performance while seeking customer service feedback.  

Qualifications include a DVM or related degree from an accredited veterinary college and the ability to obtain licensure and USDA accreditation in IL, NE, MO and IN. 3-5 years experience in swine medicine, regulatory compliance and disease prevention. Knowledge of veterinary medicine practices, principles and policies. Industry standards practices of Biosecurity, swine health management, food safety, regulatory compliance, current principles of business management and practices.
