The Medical Director will recruit and manage Medical Affairs Managers and Pharmacovigilance staff to support pet therapeutics; adverse event investigation and reporting to the relevant regulatory authority; as well as manage company response to medical inquiries from veterinarians and pet owners. The incumbent will collaborate with Marketing and Sales Management to achieve unified and medically appropriate messages for the brands. Additionally, the incumbent will identify and consult with KOLs in oncology, pain management and other therapeutic areas of interest; and prepare technical materials, presentations and publications to support the sales of pet therapeutics. The incumbent will prepare product training materials and assist in training and assessing the product knowledge of the sales team and the Medical Affairs Managers. The incumbent will support the needs of key stakeholders such as Sales, Marketing, Development, Executive Management, Business Development, Veterinarians, Specialists, Key Accounts, Distributors, Key Opinion Leaders, Marketing Partners and Veterinary Associations.
Qualifications include a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine or PhD in life sciences; specialty preferred; post-doctoral experience in clinical practice, academia or research desired; oncology or pain also preferred. The successful candidate will be adept with technology and systems, including Microsoft Office Suite and a CRM system.
