Business Analyst – Pharmaceutical Marketing

The Business Analyst will work closely with and at times under the direction of the VP of Marketing in evaluating the financial viability of Marketing and Sales programs and initiatives by utilizing financial analyses techniques and implementing metrics to measure the performance of programs vs. the initial assumptions and projections. 

The Business Analyst (BA) will:

  • Advise Marketing and Sales Executives and Managers on the financial viability of programs.  
  • Support and drive the implementation of an outcomes based approach to Marketing expenditure (Advertising, Trade Shows, Loyalty Programs etc) and Sales Support expenditure (marketing Development Funds-Preferred Dealer/Field Sales, Rebate and Free Goods programs etc) including the development of metrics to measure the ROI of Marketing and Sales programs.
  • Assist Brand Managers in reporting on and interpreting market segmentation and micro market data in order to facilitate the development of effective market strategies, tactics and plans supporting the growth objectives of the business.
  • Review Customer Profitability Analysis on an ongoing basis and make recommendations for maximizing long term customer profitability. 
  • Work with the IT and Finance departments in the development and refinement of Sales and Financial Dashboards that would address the requirements of the Marketing, Sales and other departments, including Manufacturing Operations, Business Development, R&D/Regulatory. 
  • Support and develop techniques that will assist Product Managers in forecasting demand for Production and Purchasing Planning with a high level of reliability.

 Qualifications include 3-6 years in a pharmaceutical marketing environment interacting with Marketing and Sales management and teams. Experience with promotion response analysis, ROI analysis and marketing resources allocation. Experience in both B2B and B2C communications is desirable.  Strong oral and written communications skills. Strong presentation skills. Experience in the design of sales and marketing dashboards.  PC analytical tools like MS Office, etc.

Education: M.S. in Statistics or Economics or Mathematics or other quantitative discipline. MBA is desirable.
